Why meditate? If you’ve ever felt stressed out from your busy schedule and would like to slow things down for yourself with a simple and effective exercise, join me in my free group meditation class on Thursday, January 28, 2021 @ 7pm PST via Zoom.
As a busy dad who knows what it’s like to have a lot on the go, I needed something to help me slow down. I found myself constantly rushing to appointments, preparing meals, cleaning the home whilst desperately trying to keep things together for myself. Over the years, I’ve accumulated a wealth of tools to help me manage my stress, one of which is the practice of mindfulness meditation. I’ve found through practicing meditation, I’m able to ground myself whenever I feel things are getting too hectic for me. Some other benefits from mindful meditation include:
- creates an immediate sense of calm and relaxation
- allows clarity and focus on your task at hand
- allows your mind to become more creative for problem solving
- rewires the “running thoughts” in your mind for longer term benefit.
As a man with lived mental health and trauma experiences, I felt compelled to share what I’ve learned, thus ventured out to pursue one of my many passions, publishing two personal development books, titled Living with the Dragon (2017) and the quirky yet empowering follow up book, Living with the Cat (2019). I also became a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Facilitator (2020), am MBSR and NLP trained, and am a certified Life Coach (CCF certified 2016) influenced by the works of Eckhart Tolle, Dr Rick Hanson and Gabrielle Bernstein. My experiences have been a blessing and the learnings have given me access to a wide variety of resources to share.
My approach to mindfulness meditation is simple: Meditation is something everyone can do. Many people I’ve met have never meditated before, while others have practiced meditation for much longer than I have. If you’re seasoned at meditation, my classes will enrich your current practice and provide you with new depth. And if you’re a beginner, I welcome you with open arms, knowing that you’ll be in good company. The most important thing with mindfulness meditation is your intentions; keep an open mind and give yourself permission for this time to rejuvenate.
On Thursday January 28, join me for a free 20 meditation session. Although I’m based out of beautiful British Columbia, Canada, all my mindfulness classes are done via Zoom which means we can connect securely from all over the world.
